The reason I'm giving these shoes 4 stars instead of 5 is the laces. The laces are round, stiff and shiny. They certainly look good but they are impossible to tie. I had to immediately replace them in order to wear the shoe.I took out both liners that were included and replaced them with my orthotic made by my podiatrist and they fit perfectly. These shoes are a size 7 W. Previously, I ordered another Drew shoe, the New Villager in a size 7.5 WW and my feet were swimming in them. This is the size I wear with the New Balance shoes I have which fit well in this size. So I returned the Drew New Villager shoes and ordered the Tulip shoe in the smaller size.I'm actually not sure whether the Drew shoes run large and the New Balance shoes run small. All I know is that the Tulip shoes fit fine. They look great and I'm sure I will wear them a lot. Only problem is the stupid laces. If you buy this shoe make sure you have some laces on hand.My husband loves the drew shoes...so I was looking for a pair for myself and found these. These have great support and are very comfortable the only thing I didn't like was the terrible shoelaces that come with these shoes. You have got to be kidding me. They are so thin and they don't stay tied. Other then that they are nice shoes. I ended up buying some different shoelaces and that fixed the problem. I recommend these shoes to anybody out there with feet problems these helped so much.I really need the steel bottom of the shoes for support. I was introduced to these shoes years ago and they are the only kind I can wear. I thank God that Drew has not changed their Tulip shoes!Very comfortable sneaker with pizzazzmy second pair of Drew, ordered same size & style, different color...after surgery is better fit and support than New Balance.I bought this style after having purchased my first pair of Drew shoes (the Krissy style)a few months ago. This brand is perfect for anyone with problem feet or orthotic inserts. The Tulip shoe seems durable, and fairly attractive, considering it is a shoe for problem feet. It comes with removable inserts, so size and fit can be adjusted a bit. Shoe laces are narrow and bit short. I usually wear a 9.5 in other brands of shoes, and wear a 8.5 in Drew shoes. But after receiving the Tulip shoe in the 8.5, I found it to be about a half size too small. It is a bit shorter and narrower in the toes. My orthotics did not fit in this shoe, so had to return them. Overall, this shoe and other from Drew are an excellent choice for anyone needing support for problem feet. When I first put them on, I thought they were too tight, but it only took a few minutes for my feet to settle in and they are fine. I would be happier if they weren't made in China, but I haven't found shoes made in the US yet that I could put arch supports in. The upper is leather, so the heat from your foot actually loosens the leather. They have room for arch supports while still catching your heel in the correct spot. Figure on buying new laces, though. They come with those horribly waxy round laces that like to untie themselves and wear out quickly. The last pair I got was sized 7 W and I ordered 7 wide. When they came they were marked 7 WW and I was worried I'd gotten the wrong shoes, but they are apparently just marking them differently. My first orthopedic shoe. In all my other regular shoes, my orthotic either makes my heel come up out, or makes the top of my foot rub against the top of the shoe. Initially, I removed one of the two insoles to accommodate my orthotic. There was still a bit of room in the shoe depth-wise so ended up putting it back in. I'm glad I was able to put it back in, as there was not much ball cushioning with only the top insole. Had to go a half-size up - I wear an 11, but my big toe was touching the end of the shoe. Lots of room in the toe box. Great prices on amazon for Drew shoes. Will purchase more in different colors. The shoe laces constantly come loose, so will be buying different laces soon.
