I needed shelving to display thrifted shoes for sale. This works perfect. I used gorilla glue to secure the pieces together to add security to the construction but if using at home, this would not be a requirement. Also very affordable option, space saving.I used it to store shoesDid not realize these weren’t even real shelves. It’s so cheaply made, I didn’t even bother putting it together once I took it out of the box. This shelving unit was somewhat easy to set up, the only tricky thing to pay attention to is the way you have to connect the plastic connectors. Think I messed up on like 4 of the 10 little shelves by connecting them the wrong way and I had to go back and rebuild those 4 shelves. Other than that, small and very easily to make a mistake, it's easy to set up and takes about 20~30 minutes. Now the materials I am not too much of a fan of, the metal tubing is rather too light and thin for my liking. The shelving which I though was going to be hard plastic shelves is cloth, this is stated in the seller's additional information but not in the primary intro specs. The cloth shelves sag slightly when weight is applied to them, which is not ideal when you want to display collectibles. The plastic connectors are pretty solid and hold the shelf together well. The shelf does have a bit of a wobble because of the unevenness of the feet on hard surfaces, it should do okay on carpet.Overall, I think this shelf would be best suited shoes, clothing, and towels, these items aren't generally too heavy and too bulky. So I needed an additional organizer for our towels. Having a family with men, we go through a lot. When I saw this, I just knew I had to have it. It's not bad, but....it's very narrow so I had to rearrange the towels. This is strictly for my 10 year old. He has many towels because he plays different sports and being swimming is his main, he has many towels. It's easy to assemble and VERY light weight. I know it's for shoes, but this was overall, a good decision.I like this shoe rack, once assembled it is tall, lightweight, and it holds ten shoes with a very small “footprint”.The assembly process is not for the timid. It is not that difficult, it is just that there are many many small parts, it is all small parts, and it goes together something like building a tall and complicated tinker toy. Overall this took me almost an hour from start to finish to put the whole thing together, including correcting 2-3 building errors along the way.Once it was all assembled, my wife and I are very happy with this; it was worth the effort. At the current list price, we feel this is very reasonable, and we plan to use this for a long time.I bought this for my daughter, who needed somewhere to put her ever growing jeans collection. She put it together in about 25 minutes and said it wasn't difficult but it was fiddly with so many pieces. She has it wedged in the corner of her closet, so it's supported by the walls on 2 sides. It's not the sturdiest thing I really do need to say. I wouldn't recommend leaving it free standing, even if you fill it with multiple pairs of shoes (as the seller shows). So, either wedge it into a corner inside a closet or attach to a wall! I'm thinking a young child could potentially pull this over.I am using my shoe rack for miscellaneous, lightweight items I want easily accessible in my room rather than for shoes so it is perfect for that. The material used as the shelves is cheap and may not last so I wouldn't put heavy items on it for long.
